About Nadi
A consultancy built around how small businesses actually work
We founded Nadi because we kept seeing the same thing: capable, hardworking teams in Johor being handed tools they did not ask for and were not prepared to use.

Where Nadi came from
Nadi started in Johor Bahru after years of watching businesses in the area lose time to tasks that technology could take care of — not because they were unaware, but because every solution they encountered seemed designed for companies ten times their size, or came with a sales process that left them feeling pressured and unclear.
The name Nadi means "pulse" in Malay. We chose it because we wanted to reflect the idea of something steady and life-giving — a rhythm that supports the business rather than disrupting it. When we talk with a client, we are listening for where the daily pulse of the business gets interrupted: the reports that take a morning, the messages that pile up, the data entry that nobody enjoys but everyone has to do.
We work only with small businesses. Not because we cannot serve larger organisations, but because the kind of careful, unhurried attention we believe in is harder to maintain at scale. We would rather do this well for a handful of businesses than do it quickly for many.
Our approach has always been to start with listening. Before we suggest anything, we want to understand how your days actually unfold — which tasks wear people down, where handoffs get messy, and what has already been tried and set aside. That picture shapes everything that follows.
Our Mission
To make AI genuinely useful for the businesses that run Johor
We do not believe in technology for its own sake. Every suggestion we make has to answer one question: will this actually help the people who work here? If it will not, we say so plainly and look for something that will.
Our work is done when your team feels confident using the tools on their own — not when they have learned to tolerate them, and certainly not when they have come to depend on us to keep things running.
Listen first
We never arrive with a solution already in mind.
Stay light
Changes should feel manageable, not overwhelming.
Be honest
If something is not worth doing, we will say so.
Respect the pace
You decide how fast — or slowly — things move.
The People
Who you will be working with
Zulaikha Ariffin
Founder & Lead Consultant
Zulaikha spent eight years working with operations teams across Johor before focusing full-time on helping small businesses find their footing with AI tools. She leads most first sessions and long-term retainer relationships.
Rajan Hartono
Process & Integration Specialist
Rajan has a background in business process improvement and handles most of the hands-on configuration work during the Process Companion package. He is the one who sits with staff and makes sure the tools actually fit the workflow.
Mei Ling Chan
Client Liaison & Documentation
Mei Ling coordinates scheduling, writes the plain-language summaries and reference notes every engagement produces, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks between sessions. She is usually the first point of contact for enquiries.
How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Confidentiality
Client information is never shared outside of our engagement. We handle what you tell us about your operations with care, and we are willing to formalise that in writing.
Clear documentation
Every engagement produces written notes your team can keep and use independently. We do not leave you with a verbal summary you will have to reconstruct later.
Honest assessments
If we believe a change is not worth making at this stage, we say so clearly — even if that means ending an engagement sooner than planned. That kind of honesty protects your time and your budget.
Reversible changes
We keep each change small and reversible on purpose. If something does not work, we can step back without disrupting the rest of your operation.
Transfer of knowledge
Our goal is to make ourselves unnecessary. We structure every engagement so your team gains capability, not dependence — and you leave with knowledge that belongs to you.
No pressure, ever
We do not follow up repeatedly after a first conversation. We do not push upgrades or expanded scope. When you are ready to take the next step, you will let us know — and we will be here.
Our Expertise
Practical AI consulting for Johor small businesses
Small businesses in Malaysia are being asked to work smarter, manage more data, and respond faster — all with the same number of people and the same number of hours. AI tools can help with this, but only when they are chosen carefully and introduced in a way that the team can actually absorb.
At Nadi, we focus on the gap between what AI tools can theoretically do and what they can realistically do for a specific small business in Johor Bahru. That gap is usually filled by good questions, careful listening, and an honest accounting of what the business currently has time and capacity to take on.
Our consulting work covers three connected areas: understanding where automation could reduce effort, identifying which tools are genuinely accessible and appropriate for the scale of the business, and supporting the people who will use those tools day to day. The last part tends to take the most care — technology adoption is as much about confidence and habit as it is about the software itself.
We work in English and Malay. Most of our clients are in Johor Bahru, though we also work with businesses elsewhere in Johor and occasionally further afield via remote sessions. Our fee structures are designed for small business budgets, and we do not charge for time spent on tasks that do not directly benefit you.
